American Adoptions of Indiana Scholarship Program

We offer our birth parent scholarship program to women and birth fathers who choose adoption through our agency. This program aims to help alleviate the costs of higher education and assist with things like books, supplies and tuition.

When applying for the scholarship:

  • It can be applied for twice a year, once during the fall and spring semesters

  • The deadline to apply for the spring semester is January 1st and August 1st for fall semester

  • Applicant must have worked with American Adoptions of Indiana for their adoption

  • The American Adoptions Scholarship Committee chooses the recipient

Requirements to maintain the scholarship:

  • Must keep a 2.5 or higher GPA

  • Must complete a reapplication form before each semester's deadline

Placing your baby for adoption only ensures you are eligible to apply for the scholarship, it does not guarantee you will receive a scholarship.

The number of scholarships awarded and the amount of money granted will be based on the number of applicants and tuition amounts for each semester.

"I never thought I'd go to college. Once I got pregnant and went through the whole adoption process, I realized I had things that I needed to do and can do now. A year and a half down the line, I added on fashion merchandising, so now I'm getting two degrees and am going to school for even longer."
