Can you get unemployment on maternity leave in Indiana?

Going on maternity leave does not mean you are unemployed. You will be temporarily taking time off work following the birth of your baby.

How much time off you will be allotted and whether your leave is paid will depend on your employer's maternity leave policy and whether you utilize FMLA.

Under FMLA, a worker is entitled to 12 weeks of unpaid job-protected leave. Once that time is up, you can return to work.

However, if you are let go while pregnant, you may be eligible for unemployment compensation.
